Atlantic Bluefin Tuna 939 lbs.

$3,000.00

This Atlantic Bluefin Tuna was caught off the coast of Block Island, RI. The Tuna weighed in at 939 lbs. The actual piece of white linen is 36” x 48”. This original piece was done on cloth and then stretched over canvas. I used the Gyotaku print making method to create this piece. Gyotaku is an ancient Japanese print making method, where ink is directly applied to a fish, then rice paper or cloth is laid over it and pressed to show all the intricacies and anatomical beauty of the fish. Just for everyone to know this process is very difficult and time consuming, the first 20 to 50 prints do not come out properly. This piece is one of a kind and the only print I obtained from this Tuna.
